20260412890The Faculty of Education at King Abdulaziz University began in 1409 AH with the launch of the General Diploma in Education Program, pursuant to University Council Resolution No. (19) in its third session dated 1/6/1409 AH. The program was established to meet the then Ministry of Education’s need for qualified teachers and to provide an opportunity for graduates from non-educational disciplines—both literary and scientific—to enter the teaching profession and work in the education sector in Jeddah. Subsequently, various educational programs were introduced. In 1437 AH, the name of the graduate education programs was changed to the Institute of Educational Studies. Later, in 1439 AH, the College of Graduate Educational Studies at King Abdulaziz University was inaugurated by His Excellency the Minister of Education, becoming the first Faculty of its kind in Saudi Arabia. In 1445 AH, the College of Education at King Abdulaziz University was officially launched.
