About

The College of Arts and Humanities was established in the academic year 1389/1390 AH, and the first department opened in it, the "English Language Department," in the same year. The first cohort that joined numbered 28 male and female students. The college continued along a path of development until its departments and programs were no longer limited to theoretical studies alone, but went beyond that to specialize in broad and diverse scientific and practical fields, becoming a source for refining human thought. It introduced new specialized tracks within its various academic departments and established numerous partnerships to keep pace with the development taking place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to contribute to providing scientifically and practically qualified competencies in line with the requirements of the labor market and development plans.

Vision

Achieving educational quality through diverse academic and research programs, qualified competencies, and multiple partnerships.

Strategic plan

Strategic plan

In an era of rapid transformations and contemporary global trends toward academic and research leadership, the College of Arts and Humanities stands at the forefront of educational institutions aspiring to achieve excellence and innovation across its diverse fields. To ensure the attainment of this goal, the College has adopted a new educational vision and philosophy through which it has developed its mission, functions, and programs, enabling it to accommodate, adapt to, and benefit from technological and informational changes. Undoubtedly, strategic planning represents one of the most important approaches to total quality management in educational institutions. The College of Arts and Humanities, drawing on its highly qualified human resources and the high levels of institutional performance it has achieved, has developed its third strategic plan, *Leadership*, which is built upon clear objectives and specific performance indicators that support the measurement and enhancement of performance. This plan encompasses a set of strategic goals and initiatives, along with defined performance indicators that the College seeks to achieve in the coming period, while emphasizing the importance of continuous evaluation and renewal in response to the evolving needs of the academic and research community. One of the primary motivations behind the formulation of this plan was to define a future-oriented vision—viewing problems as challenges and available resources as inputs to be effectively utilized in achieving the desired objectives. It also aims to establish priorities in accordance with stakeholders’ needs and the variables associated with the College’s internal and external environment, with the objective of transitioning from the current state to the aspired one. This transition is intended to ensure the quality of the College’s diverse program outcomes and to meet the changing demands of the labor market in alignment with fundamental needs and national priorities.
