A scholarship student from King Abdulaziz University’s Faculty of Dentistry, researcher Faisal Al-Ghamdi, has achieved international scientific recognition by winning the Best Research Award in the graduate dentistry category at JADS 2025 in Japan.
His research focuses on treating apical periodontitis and protecting the jawbone by exploring the use of metformin to accelerate root healing and reduce jawbone resorption, thereby advancing innovative therapies and reducing the need for complex surgeries or tooth extractions.
