Nine Teams Advance to Finals as Universities Challenge Camp Concludes in Jeddah

King Abdulaziz University (KAU) concluded the Universities Challenge Camp, organized by Wadi Jeddah, the University’s investment arm, in collaboration with StartSmart, an initiative of Community Jameel. The five-day camp brought together students from 10 different faculties, bringing together innovation, technology and teamwork to develop future-focused solutions.

During the closing stage, participants presented their projects to a judging committee, with three teams selected from each participating university to advance to the finals. From King Abdulaziz University, the qualifying teams were Shopzy, Sadeeq Al-Elaj, and Sawwah. From the University of Jeddah, the qualifying teams were Zulal, Orion, and Haris. From Effat University, the qualifying teams were Badirah, Mansak, and Bouslat Al-Hadiyah.

The Jeddah stage of the program featured 30 teams from three universities, while the total prize value for the three winning teams at the national level is SAR 10,000.

The initiative aimed to develop the Kingdom’s next generation of entrepreneurs through an intensive training program that fostered entrepreneurial thinking and technological innovation among university students. Participants progressed from idea development and validation to prototype creation and final pitching, gaining hands-on experience in transforming technology-based concepts into solutions aligned with user needs and market requirements.
