King Abdulaziz University Organizes Workshop on Opportunities and Challenges in Research Sectors

The Vice Presidency for Scientific Research and Innovation at King Abdulaziz University organized a workshop at the King Fahd Medical Research Center to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing researchers and faculty members in research, development, and innovation. The workshop was held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, with the participation of the university’s research sectors and centers.

King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama attended the workshop and emphasized the importance of organizing such workshops to review research initiatives and projects. He noted that the workshop aims to produce recommendations that help overcome obstacles facing researchers and inventors and support the transformation of research outputs into promising innovations. Dr. Alaama also highlighted the importance of developing university sectors related to research and innovation and strengthening their role in achieving the ambitious goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

The scientific research ecosystem at KAU serves as a key pillar in supporting innovation and achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. The ecosystem is managed through the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Research and Consulting Institute, and the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, with a focus on vital fields such as artificial intelligence, healthcare, and the sustainability of natural resources.
