20260412890King Abdulaziz University organized Orientation Week for preparatory-year students from September 8 to 10, 2026, with 30 faculties, deanships, and centers participating in the accompanying academic exhibition. The exhibition provided students with a comprehensive introduction to the University’s academic departments, available majors, and key achievements.
Orientation Week also featured the launch of the University’s student activity programs for the 2026–2027 academic year, covering cultural, sports, and social fields. These programs are designed to help students explore their interests and develop their talents.
A key objective of Orientation Week is to prepare new students for university life and provide them with a comprehensive understanding of academic pathways, student activities, and University services. The program features informative and motivational sessions, student experiences, and specialized academic sessions. The first two days focused on the general program, while specialized sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Students also took part in a discussion with Dr. Tareef bin Yousuf Alaama, President of King Abdulaziz University, titled “From Day One… You Are the Whole Story.” Other sessions addressed digital identity, preparing for university life, and financial awareness under the title “Your First Stipend… Your First Financial Decision,” alongside “The First-Year Journey: A Balanced University Experience” and an introduction to student stipends.
Another feature of the program is the “Key to Impact” concept, built around a series of themes designed to support students’ personal and academic development. These include “A Conscious Identity,” “Influential Leadership,” “Recognized Excellence,” “A Defining Beginning,” and “Lasting Impact.” Together, the themes reflect the program’s aim to move students beyond simply becoming familiar with the University and toward building a more purposeful and meaningful university experience.
Inspiring student role models were also highlighted through recognition of students who have received sports awards, leaders of student activities and clubs, outstanding innovators and inventors, high-achieving newly admitted students, and the University’s “Stars.” This initiative aims to introduce new students to examples of excellence from the very beginning of their university journey.
Specialized sessions conclude the orientation program by introducing students to faculty programs across three main academic tracks: science, health sciences, and arts and humanities. Academics and specialists from across the University are participating in these sessions.
Through this program, King Abdulaziz University seeks to provide new students with a well-structured start, connect them with the university community from their first days, and encourage participation in student activities, innovation, and excellence. It also supports a balanced university experience that combines academic achievement, skills development, and meaningful impact.
