King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation
Sciences, launched the Interdisciplinary Medical Rehabilitation Conference and
Exhibition to showcase the latest scientific developments and advanced technologies
across various fields of medical rehabilitation.

Held under the patronage of the University President, the event took place on
Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the King Faisal Conference Center, in the presence of
the Vice President for Scientific Research and Innovation, Prof. Amin bin Youssef
Noaman.

Aiming to support scientific research and innovation, the conference seeks to
strengthen collaboration among various health disciplines to deliver comprehensive
care. It also highlights the role of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in
advancing treatment approaches across related fields.

Designed as a scientific platform for exchanging expertise, the conference brings
together specialists, researchers, and students to explore global developments and
review the latest evidence-based practices. Its sessions cover recent advances in
physical, occupational, and respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology,
audiology, prosthetics and orthotics, medical rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery,
rheumatology, internal medicine, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, nursing, and
internship training.

Dean of the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Afnan bint Mohammed
Al-Khatib, said the conference reflects the faculty’s commitment to strengthening
integration among medical rehabilitation specialties and harnessing innovation and
technology, including artificial intelligence, digital rehabilitation, and assistive
technologies, to improve the quality of healthcare services and achieve the best
outcomes for patients.

She added that the event is distinguished by genuine interdisciplinary integration,
which forms the foundation of modern medical rehabilitation. Patients, she noted, are
not viewed from a single perspective, but as part of an integrated system that
deserves comprehensive, science-based, and collaborative care.

During the conference’s first day, the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences
signed two cooperation agreements with Abdul Latif Jameel Hospital and Ascend
Solutions Holding Company, underscoring the faculty’s commitment to maintaining
