20260412890King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences at
the Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, organized Immunology Day on Sunday, May 17,
2026, at the King Fahd Medical Research Center.
Organized by the faculty in collaboration with the King Fahd Medical Research Center and
the Innovation Center for Personalized Medicine, the program aimed to promote scientific
awareness of immunology and provide a platform for knowledge exchange and direct
discussion with the public. The event featured the participation of a distinguished group of
experts and specialists from the university’s faculty members.
The program included several scientific lectures, panel discussions, interactive competitions,
and exploratory tours of research laboratories. Coinciding with the university’s celebration
of World Immunology Day, the initiative reaffirmed King Abdulaziz University’s role in
promoting scientific education and encouraging communication among researchers and
those interested in the field.
Sessions highlighted a range of specialized topics under the theme “Immunological Diagnosis
and Therapies,” including modern techniques in immunological diagnosis and artificial
intelligence, immunotherapies and cell-based therapies, gene editing and CRISPR
technology, nanotechnology and vaccines, alternatives to antibiotics, and the impact of
environmental factors on immunity.
