King Abdulaziz University Concludes the 2026 Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program for Male Students

King Abdulaziz University concluded the 2026 Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program for male students, organized in partnership with the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba). The closing ceremony was held on Thursday, 29 July 2026, at the Faculty of Engineering Theater, under the patronage and in the presence of Prof. Amin bin Yousef Noaman, Vice President for Research and Innovation, and Tariq bin Mohammed Ismail, Deputy Secretary-General for Shared Services at Mawhiba.

During the ceremony, attendees visited an exhibition showcasing the research projects developed by the gifted students throughout the program and viewed a presentation highlighting the program’s achievements. The University also recognized the host entities, the executive team, and participating students, in addition to honoring the winners of the program’s Outstanding Research Competition. Abdulaziz bin Maher Al-Ghamdi was awarded first place, followed by Nader bin Sarhan Al-Wathnani in second place and Rafel bin Hussam Tayeb in third.

Executive Team Excellence Awards were presented to Dr. Eyad Attar, recipient of the Researcher Excellence Award; Eng. Mohammed Al-Abdali, who received the Research Assistant Excellence Award; and Yasser Al-Kindi, who was honored with the Administrative Excellence Award.

A total of 18 gifted students from across the Kingdom participated in the program under the supervision of six faculty members, completing 15 applied research projects. The program was supported by three University entities, including the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Science, and the Center of Excellence in Intelligent Engineering Systems, and provided participants with access to nine specialized research laboratories and advanced technology centers.

Research projects were organized into four thematic tracks: biomedical engineering, robotics and smart devices, environment and energy, and biochemistry, providing students with opportunities to address real-world challenges through applied scientific research.

Designed to prepare gifted students as future leaders in research and national innovation, the Mawhiba Research Enrichment Program fosters ambition and self-confidence through hands-on research experiences, promotes applied research in science and engineering in support of national priorities, and reinforces the principles of scientific research, innovation, and effective scientific communication.
