King Abdulaziz University has signed a cooperation agreement with Baraa Association for University Students in the Makkah Region to support students facing academic challenges and enhance their opportunities for academic success and excellence.
The agreement was signed on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at the office of the University Vice President for Educational Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Reda Kabli. It aims to provide training and development programs, financial and non-financial support, and tailored solutions to address academic challenges.
King Abdulaziz University was represented at the signing by Dr. Jamaan bin Salem Al-Ghamdi, Dean of Admissions and Registration, while Baraa Association was represented by Dr. Mersal bin Abdullah Al-Mohammadi, Chairman of its Board of Directors.
The agreement seeks to support students whose GPAs fall below the minimum required for graduation or who have exceeded the maximum permitted period of study. This will be achieved through development programs designed to strengthen their professional and practical skills and by providing a supportive learning environment that encourages achievement and academic excellence. The agreement also aims to promote the values of volunteerism and initiative among students.
Areas of cooperation include identifying cases of academic difficulty across the University, assessing and classifying them to determine the specific needs of each case, providing the necessary support, and helping address the underlying causes of academic difficulty in coordination with the relevant entities. The agreement also provides for designated spaces to receive students and training rooms for training and awareness programs, in accordance with approved procedures and regulations.
The agreement also aims to improve the academic performance of at least 70% of students benefiting from the programs by the end of each academic year. Progress will be assessed by measuring the impact of the academic and counseling programs provided, monitoring students’ academic achievement, and preparing semiannual reports to evaluate outcomes and performance indicators.
