The Interdisciplinary Medical Rehabilitation Conference, organized by King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, concluded on Thursday, May 7, 2026, along with its accompanying exhibition. The two-day event attracted 500 participants

Dean of the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, Dr. Afnan bint Mohammed Al-Khateeb, stated that the conference featured 21 scientific lectures and 30 scientific posters, during which participants discussed key scientific developments and modern technologies across various fields of medical rehabilitation. Researchers, faculty members, and healthcare practitioners from inside and outside the Kingdom took part in the conference. She also noted that the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties accredited the event with 15 training hours

Dr. Al-Khateeb explained that the conference’s scientific program addressed the use of artificial intelligence and modern predictive approaches in medical rehabilitation. It also examined emerging perspectives in biomechanics, artificial intelligence, and 3D printing in medical rehabilitation research, while discussing previous and current experiences as well as future outlooks

She added that the conference program explored scientific advances in wearable sensor technologies for spinal posture and movement, advanced technologies in medical rehabilitation sciences, student innovations and research, scientific awards, as well as current developments and future trends

The conference aims to provide a scientific platform for exchanging expertise, bringing together specialists, researchers, and students to review global developments. It showcased the latest evidence-based practices and recent advancements in physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology and audiology, prosthetics and orthotics, medical rehabilitation, orthopedic surgery, rheumatology, internal medicine, neurology, biomedical engineering, and internship training
