GCC academic advising conference inaugurated

 

A GCC academic advising conference under the title of "Academic Advising in Higher Education of the Gulf Cooperation Council States: Reality and Hope” was inaugurated Sunday by the Acting KAU President, Professor Abdurrahman Alyoubi.


38 educational GCC institutions are taking part in the event.


Addressing the inaugural ceremony, which took place at King Faisal Convention, Professor Alyoubi stressed the importance of academic advising as a crucial part of the educational process.


He also asserted that the event was in line with KAU's commitment to providing a congenial academic atmosphere for its students. 


He also toured an exhibition staged on the sidelines of the event.


In his speech, Dr Amin Numan, Head of the Conference's Organizing Committee, pointed out that the conference aimed to activate the participation of universities in developing the role of academic advising and accordingly improve the quality of education.


Dr Hasim Bin Saleh Al-Zeer, also confirmed that the conference was held with the express purpose of improving the area of academic advising for the larger benefit of the students.
