King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation
Sciences, signed a cooperation agreement with Ascend Solutions Holding Company
to strengthen academic and professional collaboration, promote integration, and
contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in the fields of health,
nutrition, and sports. The agreement was signed on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the
King Faisal Conference Center.
The university was represented at the signing by Dr. Afnan bint Mohammed Al-
Khatib, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, while Ascend
Solutions Holding Company was represented by its CEO, Marwan Miqdad. Through
this agreement, both parties seek to enhance the capabilities of national talent and
advance innovative scientific research in sports sciences, with a positive impact on
quality of life.
A key objective of the agreement is to enable the university’s male and female
students to obtain internationally accredited certifications from Ascend in personal
training, sports nutrition, sports rehabilitation, and public health. It also aims to
develop joint research projects, support the professional development of faculty
members through advanced programs and courses, and implement awareness and
community service initiatives that promote physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
Areas of cooperation include Ascend’s delivery of high-quality professional training
and qualification programs, in addition to providing the faculty with scientific materials
and qualified personnel to conduct the courses. The company will also provide
technical and administrative support to university faculty members in managing
digital platforms and coordinating assessments related to its programs.
As part of its initial projects, the agreement targets the achievement of performance
indicators in student training. Both parties also seek to publish specialized research
in sports science, nutrition, and physical fitness, while providing comprehensive
technical and technological support to ensure the quality of training program
outcomes and their alignment with accredited international standards.
