King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation
Sciences, signed a memorandum of understanding with Abdul Latif Jameel Hospital
in Jeddah to promote integration between academic education and clinical training.
The agreement aims to prepare qualified national competencies in the field of
medical rehabilitation in line with Saudi Vision 2030. The MoU was signed on
Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the King Faisal Conference Center.
The university was represented at the signing by Dr. Afnan bint Mohammed Al-
Khatib, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, while Abdul Latif
Jameel Hospital was represented by Dr. Mahmoud Al-Tahami, Acting Executive
Director. Through this cooperation, both parties seek to achieve effective integration
between academic education and clinical training.
A key objective of the MoU is to enhance Abdul Latif Jameel Hospital’s contribution
to the development of the healthcare sector in line with Saudi Vision 2030. It also
aims to prepare qualified national talent capable of meeting labor market needs and
improving the quality of healthcare, particularly in medical rehabilitation. In addition,
the agreement seeks to develop the skills of male and female students by providing
distinguished field training opportunities within an integrated clinical environment,
while supporting continuing education programs and encouraging scientific research.
Areas of cooperation include Abdul Latif Jameel Hospital’s participation in practical
training for undergraduate, internship, and master’s students in available health
specialties. The hospital will also facilitate scientific research by providing a suitable
environment and appropriate support, offer practical and clinical lectures to prepare
students, and participate in community awareness campaigns related to medical
rehabilitation and other health specialties.
The MoU also includes joint coordination with the hospital in delivering courses,
consultations, and research projects, as well as cooperation in developing academic
and training programs with academic supervision of students’ performance. It further
covers collaboration between university and hospital staff in scientific meetings,
conferences, and workshops to enhance the quality of education and training, in
addition to exchanging student, academic, and training visits between both parties to
achieve educational and professional integration.
