Profile

Professor in the Department of Environmental Science, Faculty of Meteorology, Environment and Arid Land Agriculture, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He had the B.Sc. of food science in 1977, with the grading " Very good with honour degree " and in 1982 the M. Sc. of food technology, in the field of food microbiology "Preservation and maintenance of important bacteria related to food products" from Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science Department, Ain Shams University. In 1992 he had the  Dr.Sc.Agr. in microbiology : February 1992, with the grading "VERY GOOD" (Qualitative and quantitative analysis of cytological aspects of autotraphic bacteria by application of conventional and new electron - microscopical techniques) from Georg August University, Göttingen, Germany. He is director of  electrom microscope  unit and member of research team of  MIRCEN – culture collection in Faculty of Agriculture, Food Science Department, Ain Shams University. He was visiting professor of Institute for microbiology and Genetics and  council member of diploma and doctoral examinations in Egypt and Germany.

He also has good experience in the field of electron microscopy, cryo-techniques and immune cytochemistry for localization of important cell components.
