Abstract : JPEG2000 is the new international standard for still image compression. The JPEG2000 standard is based on wavelet/sub-band coding techniques and supports lossy and lossless compression of single component (e.g., grayscale) and multi-component (e.g., color) imagery. The description of the JPEG2000 is presented in this paper.
