Abstract : With the advancement of technology, the academics and curriculum developers are always under pressure to provide students with skills match market requirements. For staying up to date with the required skills, a systemic and continuous examination of the market is needed. This thesis aims to develop a methodology named as “Bridging methodology” that can be used by the academics and curriculum developers to bridge the skills gap between the curriculum and market. We used the online computing job postings in the Saudi market as required skills and the curriculum in the Faculty of Computing, King Abdulaziz University as acquired skills. The presented methodology composed of four stages has been employ using R programming. The first stage is data collection and pre-processing used text mining techniques. The second stage, classification used a Naive Bayes model. Third, measure the closeness between datasets used cosine similarity. The final stage visualized the contents of datasets used word clouds. The presented method benefits the academics and curriculum developers improving the courses and therefore bridging the skills gap. They can know some insights about the predominate jobs, and required and acquired skills. Also, it may be useful not only for academic and curriculum developers also for the analyst, students, and job applicants.
