Abstract : When looked through the Literature of this work, there are 5 major barriers that have affected the implementation of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM). The barriers are Outsource, Technology, Knowledge, Financial, and Involvement & Support. Each barrier contains a list of sub-barrier. The Outsource Category has the sub-barriers like Problem in maintaining environmental suppliers, Complexity in measuring and monitoring suppliers’ environmental practices, in addition to a few more. Technology Category sub-barriers like Fear of failure, Lack of human resources to name a few. Some of the sub barriers at the Knowledge Category include, Lack of awareness about reveres logistics adoption, Disbelief about environmental benefits, and Perception of “out-of-responsibility” zone. The Financial Category has the sub-barriers high investments and less return-on-investment alongside eight other sub barriers. Involvement and Support Category has twelve sub barriers and some of them are, Lack of training courses/consultancy/institutions to train, monitor/mentor progress specific to food industry as well as Lack of customer awareness and pressure about GSCM. The goal of this work is to achieve the most influential barrier of the implementation of Green Supply Chain Management in context of Food industry, specifically Dairy and foodstuff sector in KSA. This goal was obtained through the application of Multi-phase Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM). The result showed that having “No Specific” environmental goal to achieve is the most influential barrier in implementing GSCM.
