Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon the seal of his prophets and messengers. This paper is a philosophical doctrine study (review and critique) which addresses the concept of divinity in the modern theosophical thought. The research consists of an introduction, preface, four chapters, conclusion, and index.
The preface includes: a definition of divinity and the definition of theosophy. The first chapter presents the emergence of the theosophical thought and its principles in two parts: the first one revolves around the beginning of theosophical thought; including modern mysticism orientation and its contemporary movements, and tracking the emergence and the history of the theosophical thought. The second one revolves around the goals and the principles of theosophical thought. The second chapter of this paper reveals the origins of theosophical thoughts and its methods to achieve knowledge. The sources of the theosophical thought consisted of eastern religions, and mystical tendencies in divine religions. While tackling the topics of mystical tradition, clairvoyance, esoteric, and intuition as basic methods to reach the hidden knowledge of the theosophical thought. The third chapter focuses on the main subject of this paper which is the (Concept of Divinity) exposing its fact in the mystical thought, and presenting its synonyms in the theosophical thought. The fourth chapter demonstrated the effects of theosophical thought finalizing it with the Islamic consideration regarding it. Finally comes the conclusion which sums up the research results and recommendations of the researcher. This research took a historical critical descriptive approach; displaying the thought, tracking its origins and describing its reality, then criticizing it from an Islamic perspective. One of the most important result of this study is exposing the reality of the theosophical thought and its association through the context of the right doctrine. In addition to disclosing the resources of access to unseen knowledge of the mystics. Not to mention the knowledge of theosophical doctrine in the concept of divinity, and how it doesn’t depart of the

mystic pantheism doctrine. For theosophy is a contemporary and international image of the mystic thought of the modern age. The study also reveals the dangers of theosophy and its effects on the big spiritual movements that call for deification of man and the dissemination of atheism in the world. The study ends by a recommendation to double the advocacy efforts to stop the infiltration of mystic thought in the Islamic nation, and the recommendation for the continuity of scientific researches in contemporary thought, and exposing its multiple forms and applications. |
