Abstract : This study aims to address the issue of friendship in Al-Tawheedi’s works from an objective and artistic perspective, by clarifying the meaning friendship from Al-Tawheedi’s point of view throughanalyzing the meaning of friendship, its conditions, obligations and constraints, and monitoring his status between friendship and alienation and his frequent visits to the ministers. In addition, it aims to identify the artistic characteristics in the texts of Abu Hayyan’s prose. The researcher adopted the descriptive analytical and historical method throughout this study, as well as the opinions of the writers of the modern era about the message of friendship and friend and their agreement on its distinctiveness and uniqueness, which demandsfurther deep study and analysis. The study found out that Al-Tawheedi was seeking to clarify the accurate and detailed meaning of friendship. The high statusof friendship made Al-Tawheedi’sfocus on its terms, obligations, and constraints, which revealed his rich knowledge and his prosperous outcome on this subject, and the reasons that prevented him from making friends; like his lack of family, poverty, and being tempered. Finally, the study presentedhis significant artistic characteristics, his efforts to develop the school of Al-Jahiz, his interest in the balance, duplication, and simple rhymes, and his focus on synonyms, and diodes as distinctive features of his prose.
