A delegation composed of KAU officials, students and staff visited Najran region and the military forces stationed on the southern border Wednesday May 11, 2016 under the slogan "we are proud of your sacrifice". This visit by KAU delegation comes as an expression of recognition of their pride of the forces' sacrifice and fulfillment of the national duty and emphasizing on national constants and cohesion between the people and the wise leadership. The visit falls within a series of initiatives and programs implemented by KAU aiming at highlighting the University's role towards the homeland safety and in support of our brave soldiers participating in the "Firmness Storm" (Resolve Storm) and "Hope Restoration" campaigns.
The delegation was received at the Emirate of Najran by Mr. Abdullah Al Gahtani, Deputy Governor of najran Region who welcomed the delegation. Mr. Al GAhtani received a souvenir shield from the hands of the KAU Dean of students' Affaires. After that the delegation visited a number of military command brigades including:
• The National Guard Brigade where they were received by the Commander of Prince Saad bin Abdulrahman automated brigade, Major Gen, Mohamed Al Shehri.
• The Boarder Guard Command where they were received by the commander of Boarder Guard Brigade in Najran Region Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al Thuweykhi.
• The "Najran Force" a brigade of the Ground Forces where they were received by Najran Forces Commander.
After that, the delegation paid a visit to the Shamat Amal (a candle of hope) association for special needs.
On this occasion, HE KAU President, Prof. Abdulrahman Al Youbi declared in a phone call to the command of Najran forces that the University will provide all support and assistance for the sons and daughters of the martyrs and the injured in facilitating their admission process at KAU based on official laws and regulations.

Dear brother and Brave soldiers of the Southern border
I am delighted and honored, on my behalf and on behalf of all King Abdulaziz University staff and students to express my pride of you and of your sincere services to and protection of the land of the two holy mosques, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. WE are delighted to be among you today to tell all of you that we are proud of your sacrifice. Also, based on our duty towards our country and on our societal responsibilities at KAU and on our wise leadership directive, I am delighted to announce to you that KAU will provide all facilities to the sons and daughters of the martyrs and the injured applying for admission at KAU including the exemption from the external and distance study programs' fees
From his part, HE Prof. Abdullah Mahraji, KAU vice-president indicated that this visit which carries the slogan "We are proud with your sacrifice" comes to stress the full support of all the citizens for their wise leadership and their solidarity with the brave soldiers who defend this country as well as to strengthen the role of the university - students and staff – towards their country and religion.
The head of the delegation, dean of students affaires, Prof. Abdulmonim al hayani indicated that the visit falls within a series of programs and activities organized by the university to highlight its societal and national role towards the consolidation of the sense of national belonging among its staff and students. He also expressed his satisfaction, gratitude and appreciation of the hospitality of all sectors visited by the delegation.
In terms of communication and interaction between universities, Faculties of KAU Khleiss branch organized a visit to King Abdullah in Thoul on 26 April 2016 by a number of their students, heads of departments and faculty members during which they were exposed to a tour of the different phases of the university establishment in a record. Then the delegation visited the scientific innovation and patents showroom. The delegation had the opportunity to attend one of King Abdullah University Forums with specially provided interpreting services for students. The delegation also visited the university library.
Students and accompanying faculty members praised the benefit of such visit and thanked the Dean of Khleiss Branch faculties, Prof. Mansour Al Hazmi and King Abdullah University represented by its Public Relations department and all visit organizing parties.
