KAU male and female students achieve Global Breakthroughs and harvest Awards and Medals in the Geneva 2016 International Invention Exhibition

 

King Abdulaziz university participated with five students teams in the Geneva  2016 international invention expo for which the final results were announced on Friday 15 April 2016. All participating KAU student teams have earned international prizes in all branches of the expo.


Indeed KUA earned three gold medals, one silver and one bronze in addition to three special awards.


Students Ferdaws Sharif Qasem, Arwa Adnan Faqih, Nourah Ali Al Marshad were awarded  gold medals. Student Muhab Hindi was awarded a silver medal. Student Safa Hsein was awarded a bronze medal in addition to Noura Al Marshad who earned two other special prizes.


This scientific achievement came as a result of KAU efforts towards international competitiveness and the development of students scientific capacities and creative skills through their sponsoring by their faculties and creativity and giftedness centers as well as the efforts of the entrepreneurship incubators and clubs of the Students Affaires Deanship.


The university has formed a team to prepare for local and international competitions under the presidency of KAU Vice-president for Development Prof. Abdulfatah Mashat and the membership of the dean of the faculty of computers and information technology, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Talhi, the dean of students affaires Dr. Abdulmonim Al Hayani and Dr. Ibrahim Alawi faculty member at the faculty of engineering.

The preparation started three months prior to the competition to insure the quality of training and rehabilitation of the students participating in the event based on the nature of their field of participation.


KAU President Prof. Abdulrahman Al Youbi congratulated the participants in the international event praising their achievements and thanking all those who contributed to this breakthrough.


The participating team was among the selection based on the results of the last scientific meeting.


KAU president expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, to his crown Prince Mohammad bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, and to his Deputy Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and to our wise government for their constant support of the educational sectors.


KAU president also thanked HRH prince Khalid Al Faysal advisor of the Custodian of the two holy mosques for his support and care for our young scientific generations of KAU students and thanked HRH prince Mishal bin Majed governor of Jeddah for his unlimited support of KAU events and functions. He also thanked HE Dr. Ahmed Al Issa Minister of Education for his follow up and support of our young students who raised the Saudi flag and reputation in all international events, exhibitions and conferences.


He also promised that the participants will be honored upon their return to the home land as means of appreciation of their achievement.


For this occasion, Prof. Mashat, KAU Vice-president for Development congratulated the winning teams and hoped them further success expressing his gratitude and appreciation to the University President Prof. Abdulrahman Al Youbi for his constant support for KAU male and female students in all international events and gatherings.
