Regulations of Conference Attendance

First: Regulation of Affairs of Saudi Faculty Members

Article Sixty Seven

A faculty member may attend any of the conferences or sessions held at home or abroad, provided that:

• A relationship shall exist between the given conference or session on the one hand and the faculty member's actual major or job duty.
• A participation in the conferences and sessions held at home shall be based upon a recommendation of both boards of the concerned department and faculty and as well a consent of the Chancellor.
• A participation in the conferences and sessions held aboard shall be based upon a consent of the Chairman of the University's Council. This consent shall be supported by a recommendation of both boards of the concerned department and faculty and as well a consent of the Chancellor.
• The University's Council shall be in charge with drawing up both the regulatory and procedural rules for all matters of attendance of conferences and sessions mainly in reference to the Academic Council's consent and recommendation.
• Those to participate in any of these conferences or sessions are required to submit a well-dictated report to the University.

Article Sixty Eight

The University may provide any of the faculty members, who are participating in any of the conferences or sessions held at home or abroad, a travel ticket and proper allowance. The University may provide only a ticket or a permit of attendance with no financial commitment.

Second: HE Chancellor's Resolution no. 94994/d/27 Dated on 19/12/1427 AH Pertaining the Executive Policies of the University's Budget for 1427/1428 AH, Particularly Clause (7-2) of Regulations of Faculty Members' Attendance of Conferences and Sessions for:

• (7-2-1-1) Providing any of the faculty members wishing to attend any conference or session, if this faculty member has an approved academic paper of research, with a travel ticket and proper allowance for the whole period of the given conference or sessions or virtually for three days for the first time.
• (7-2-1-2) Providing any of the faculty members wishing to attend any conference or session, if this faculty member has an approved academic paper of research for the second time during the given fiscal year, with a travel ticket only. He shall be provided a proper allowance for the whole period of the given conference or session or virtually for three days, if he has been proved to have published an academic paper of research in any of the refereed journals.
• (7-2-1-3) Not providing any of the faculty members wishing to participate in any conference or session for the third time with the same privileges stated in Claus (1) during the given fiscal year unless he has been proved to have published an academic paper of research in a refereed journal. Accordingly, he is entitled to be provided with both travel ticket and proper allowance for the whole period of the given conference or session or virtually for three days.
• (7-2-1-4) Providing any of the faculty members wishing to attend any conference or session for the fourth time and further times as well, if he has been proved to have published an academic paper of research in a refereed journal during the given fiscal year. Accordingly, he is entitled to be provided with only a proper allowance for the whole period of the given conference or session or virtually for three days.
• (7-2-1-5) Any of those having published an academic paper of research (or having had a publishable paper) in a refereed journal registered in the ISI shall be permitted to participate in any of the given conferences or sessions without an academic paper and shall be then provided with both a travel ticket and proper allowance for the whole period of the given conference or session or virtually for three days.
• (7-2-1-6) Any of those wishing to attend a given conference or session while having no academic papers shall do this upon his own expense (with no travel tickets or proper allowances or any other charges of attendance).
