Mission


Program Mission:

Preparation of the specialized scientific personal in the field of agriculture science for the benefit of society in the arid land.

Program Goals:

The main goal of the program is to prepare high quality undergraduate students to meet the job market needs and participate in the sustainable development in the agriculture sector of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia through:

  • Cultivation of arid lands using appropriate methods of planting suitable field crops that can tolerate salinity, drought and temperature.
  • Improving characters of drought, salinity and temperature resistance in field and horticultural crops.
  • Using nonconventional agricultural methods such as greenhouses, hydroponics, phytotrone, tissue culture and genetic engineering.
  • Conducting research on animals and poultry to cross-breed and select generations that are adapted to the local environment. Moreover research will deal with producing the best feed rations complexes that are rich in nutrients and lead to more animal production.
  • Improving relations of methods serving cultural society in arid lands.
  • Introduction of qualified technical experts that can serve in agricultural production (animal and plant) in arid lands.
