Inauguration of University Director Award for Distinction

His Excellency the university Director In-charge  Dr. AbdulRahman bin Obaid AlYobi inaugurated the award of the University Director for Excellence in community service which aims at appreciation and honoring the community works presented by sectors and member of the university to the society on Wednesday 10 Rabiee Thani 1437 in the office of the University Director in the presence of the Universtiy representative for development Dr. AbdulFattah bin Sulaiman Mashat the Head of Award Secretariat

At the start of the inauguration the university director listened to a detailed explanation of the mechanism of the award which aims to achieve the university vision and mission in achieving the social responsibility objectives and to contribute to the service of the society continuously.

Then the university director in-charge Dr. AbdulRahman bin Obaid alYobi delivered a speech saying that the founder university is distinguished in scientific, research and social programs, therefore let us appreciate and honor those who hard workers and givers; he added by saying the vision and mission of the university  clearly confirm that community service is one of central and main part of the academic goals and objectives of the university and that the contribution in the local community requires providing   good education  and educational opportunities to individuals of the community and conducting researches and present services in order to create the best opportunities to graduates and help in improving the economic education. He said, thus the university commits to serve the community and provide the prowers and services that have positive effects on society and we believe that such activities and awards represent an integral part of our social responsibility towards the society at large.

The university representative for development, head of the Award Committee Secretaiat Dr. AbdulFattah bin Sulaiman Mashat explained that the aim of the award is to support the sectors and members of the university whether the administrative or technical staff to continue exert more social efforts and to instill the concept of social responsibility. He also mentioned that work is completed on precise mechanisms and standards in nominating processes.

In the same context the dean of community services and continuing education Dr. Towfiq bin AbdulMohsin alKhayal  said that the university director award for excellence in community service is considered the first award to be concerned by and supports work in the fields of community service in the university and its is also considered an important event due to its importance as an incentive and encouragement in the service of the community.

The sections and branches of the award the representative of the deanship of community service and continuing education Dr. Hamed bin AbdulRaof Saleh the general secretary of the award that it consist of four branches:

• The award of best sector (faculty/institute/centers/ chair) which presented services in the service of the community.
• The award of the best member of teaching staff who presented community service
• The award of the best administrative/technician – administrative/technical section who served the community.
• The award of the best student (male/female) who served the community.

In accordance with the approved conditions of the award in which the participation will be through the website of the award on the university site reminding that the last date for delivering the works is 1/06/1437 through the award e-mail. award-community@kau.edu.sa.
