Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University to Lecture on Saudi Moderation Approach

As part of the programme of Prince Khalid Al Faisal's Chair for Consolidating Saudi Moderation Approach at King Abdulaziz University, HE Prof Suliman Aba Al-Khail, Rector of Al-Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, is scheduled to give a lecture on Saturday January 15th, 2011 at King Faisal Conference Centre.
The lecture, the third of the five-year chair, will shed light on the foundations and principles of the moderation approach.
The first lecture of the chair's programme was delivered by Dr Bandar Hajjar, Vice-Speaker of Majlis Ash Shura, on the role of the Saudi moderate policies in dealing with the economic challenges facing the international economy.
According to Dr Saeed M. Al-Malki, the Chair's Supervisor, Prince Khalid Al Faisal's Chair for Consolidating Saudi Moderation is aimed at showing the true picture of the Saudi moderate approach and its applications throughout the Saudi history, enhancing the citizen’s sense of belonging to the country and increasing the society’s awareness of the dangers of fanaticism, extreme religious and behavioural beliefs and westernization.
Prince Khalid announced his wish to sponsor a research chair for consolidating the Saudi moderation approach during a lecture he had given at King Abdulaziz University, in which he highlighted the Saudi moderation approach since the era of the late King Abdulaziz Al Saud, founder of the third Saudi state, and the role it played in combating fanaticism, extreme religious and behavioural beliefs and westernization.
