Retiring Staff Honored By President of King Abdulaziz University

Under the patronage of HE Prof Osama Sadeq Tayeb, President of King Abdulaziz University, a party was organized on Sunday 14th Rabi' II 1429 H, corresponding to 20th April 2008 at the Celebration and Conference Hall to honor a group of retiring staff at both the girls' and boys' divisions. The party was attended by Prof Abdurrahman Bin Obied Alyoubi, Vice-president of the University and Prof Muhsen Mansuri, Supervisor General of the Administration and Financial Affairs.

The party began with recitation of verses from the Holy Quran; then Prof Fayza Linjawi delivered a speech on behalf of the administrators, in which she said "I' m proud to deliver this speech on behalf of the administrators. We remind ourselves of the first day we joined this great establishment and now we are witnessing the day on which we are to hand over to our successors in order to continue what we have already started. I would also like to thank all those who have been supporting us, especially the KAU President , the Dean of the Girls' Division and other leading executives in both the boys' and girls' divisions wishing them all the best.

After that, members of the Folklore Club gave a folklore presentation glorifying the Prophet Mohamed PBUH.

Prof Mohamed Noor Fatani delivered a speech on behalf of the teaching members of staff, in which he talked about his experience in the University. He said "after getting my PhD, I joined the KAU and climbed to the top of my profession and learnt a lot throughout my academic and administrative career. I learnt to always be helpful to my students, and care about others and treat them in a good manner. I am so pleased that the University is now open to the outside community and that it is one of the best universities thanks to those who are now honoring. Thank you".

HE president KAU then delivered a speech, in which he said "How bright the faces I am looking at are! How well-behaved you are! Today, we are honoring this group of colleagues in appreciation of the significant and obvious contributions they have made over a long period of time to develop the University.

Finally, HE the president, the Vice-President and the Supervisor General of Administration and Financial Affairs, distributed memorial shields to the retiring teaching members of staff, administrators and temporary employees in the boys' division. In the mean time, Dr Najah Ashri, Dean of Girls' Division, distributed memorial shields to the retiring female staff in a separate hall.
