International Atomic Energy Agency Hails KAU

Dr Manase Salema, Director Division for Asia and the Pacific of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) - Department of Technical Cooperation- has commended King Abdulaziz University for the arduous efforts it exerted to successfully organise the GCC International Symposium on the Peaceful Application of Nuclear Technology from 5-7 November 2008, corresponding to 5-7 Zul Qaeda 1429 under the auspices of King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
In a letter addressed to HE Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, KAU President, Dr Salema has congratulated KAU on the idea of organising the symposium, which he described as effective and well-prepared for.
He has also praised KAU's contribution in promoting peaceful use of nuclear technology for sustainable development in Saudi Arabia and the region.
Prof Abdullah Bin Omer Bafil, KAU Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, has hailed Dr Mohammed Subian Al Johani, Head Department of Nuclear Engineering at the KAU Faculty of Engineering, and Dr Mansour Al Mazroui, Head Department of Meteorology at the KAU Faculty of Meteorology, Environment and Arid Land Agriculture, for their ceaseless efforts to make a success of the symposium by making the necessary arrangements and preparations.
