Profile

Currently, I am working as Associate Professor in the "Aerospace Engineering Department" (formerly called Department of  Aeronautical Engineering) at one of the esteemed university of Saudi Arabia - King Abdul Aziz University. Apart from teaching I dedicate my time towards research activities.

My primary research area is computational  simulation of  high speed Flows and combustion. I have achieved  PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) from the department of Aerospace Engineering in the year 2012. It is one of the premier institutes of India.  I have done research on topic entitled  "Application of shock-unsteadiness model to hypersonic shock/turbulent boundary-layer interaction." This work was sponsored by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO)  and has practical implication in the development of high speed scramjet vehicle. 


After PhD,  I have joined as Assistant Professor at Institute of Aeronautical Engineering,Hyderabad, India. I had dissipated knowledge to undergraduate students for about two years. I taught Gas Dynamics, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Advanced CFD, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. 

I hold post graduation degree in Thermal Engineering from JNTUCE, JNTU, Hyderabad. India in the year 2004. Later, I have joined  as Assistant Professor and I had dissipated knowledge to undergraduate students for 2 years from 2004 to 2006. I have taught Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Thermal Engineering- I and II, CAD Lab, Fluid Mechanics Lab, Internal Combustion Engine Lab etc. 

I do research in the area of shock/turbulent boundary interaction (STBLI) flows. The standard turbulent models are modified by accounting the missing physics and applied to STBLI flows of compression corner, oblique shock impingement, cone-flare, 3D single fin and other configurations.

Also, I do research in the area of high speed combustion (RANS, URANS, Large Eddy Simulations). The openFoam package is used my simulations.

Also,  I investigate the effect of thermophysical properties on Nusselt number, skin friction and pressure drop in micro and nano low speed duct flows with different fluids like air, water, etc...

Lastly, I do research in other areas as well such as convective heat transfer in annulus pipes, MILD combustion,  cavitation of hydrofoils, etc..
