Dr. Hanadi Abdulrahman Ameen Khadawardi

I am an Assistant Professor at King Abdul-Aziz University.  I have been working at the University since 2008. Prior to becoming a lecturer, in 2005, I received the BA degree in English Language and Literature with a Minor degree in Education from Um-Al-Qura University, Makkah. In 2006, I joined Al-Maarefah Private School for one year and taught English language for Intermediate and secondary students.  In 2007, I worked as a Language Teacher, for first year Health Science students at Um-Alqura University. During that time, I also supervised presentations of first year Medical students conducted as a part time of ‘The Learning Skills Course’’ at Umm Al-Qura University. In 2008, I joined the English Language Institute as a Teacher Assistant at King Abdul-Aziz University and then I travelled to the UK to pursue my postgraduate studies.

In 2011, I completed a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Applied Linguistics/Research Methodology from University of Southampton, UK. In 2016, I undertook a PhD in Modern Languages/Applied Linguistics from University of Southampton.  I also have got a CELTA (Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults) from Teaching House at OHC, London, UK.

My interests include digital literacies, academic reading and writing strategies, the use of modern technologies for language learning, pedagogical issues and instructional design.

Areas of expertise

Experiences I have taken various roles during her studies. In 2015, Hanadi worked as a Qualitative Data Analyst in (Routes into Languages Project) at University of Southampton across schools in the UK. She also delivered NVIVO workshops and trained postgraduate researchers to use NVIVO software at the University of Southampton. In 2014, Hanadi worked as an Academic Reading and Writing Tutor during summer in Pre-sessional (EAP) English for Academic Purposes Program for (PGR) at the University of Southampton. She also worked as a Language teacher/a Part timer at Kings’ College London, London, UK. Hanadi mentored several undergraduate students at the university of Southampton. In addition, she volunteered in organising several conferences; Language Testing Forum, Gradnet Conference, The “10th” annual LLAS e-learning and The “11th” Saudi Students’ Conference. Hanadi has been awarded a certificate of appreciation of her excellence during her postgraduate studies from the Saudi Arabian Cultural Bureau in London.
