Dr. Gamal Abd Allah Mohamed Hussein was graduated from Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University, Assiut with general grade excellent with honour in 1997. He worked as teaching assistant at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University from 1997 till 2002 at this time he obtained master degree in pharmaceutical sciences, Pharmacognosy. From 2002 till 2006 he worked as associate lecturer at Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University. He worked as research assistant at Pharmazeutische Biologie Institute der Universität Heinrich-Heine, Düsseldorf, Germany from 2002 till 2005 under supervision of Prof. Peter Proksch. In 2006, he got the PhD degree. From 2006 till 2012 he worked as assistant professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University. From 2009 to 2010 he worked at Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Fatah University, Libya. After that he worked as associate professor at the Department of Pharmacognosy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Al-Azhar University from 2012 till now. Currently, he worked as professor at the Department of Natural Products, Faculty of Pharmacy, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

1- Isolation and identification of biologically active natural products from medicinal plants, marines and fungi.
2- Structure elucidation of natural products using different spectroscopic techniques e.g. UV, IR, MS, 1D, and 2D NMR.
3- Different chromatographic techniques such as TLC, CC, VLC, GC, and HPLC.
4- Biological evaluation of natural products.
5- Macro- and microscopical characterization of medicinal plants.

Chemistry, isolation, structural elucidation, and biological evaluation of natural products from different natural sources as plants, marines, and fungi.
