Nidal H Abu-Hamdeh

 Professor

Profile

Professor NIDAL H. ABU-HAMDEH received his PhD degree from Ohio State University with the honor degree, Columbus-Ohio, USA in 1996. Currently, he is serving as a Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at King Abdulaziz University (KAU), Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During his 23 years of corporate experience, he obtained unlimited experience in several topics including Utilizability of solar energy, optimization and control of renewable power systems (particularly solar and wind), hybrid renewable energy generation, thermal conductivity in porous media, emissions and pollutants from internal combustion engines, finite element modeling of mechanical engineering systems, and stress distribution in porous media. During his integrated experience, he has authored/co-authored hundreds of scientific articles that were published in ISI journals and as conference papers that cover these topics. In addition, he has been a Reviewer for numerous international journals and conferences. For this reason, he is very highly qualified scientist and known internationally. Furthermore, he was awarded the Best Researcher Award in the Field of Engineering Sciences and Computer Technology at King Abdul Aziz University for the academic year 2019. Also, Prof. Nidal is included in the list launched by Stanford University of "the best 2% of the world's scientists", which number nearly 160,000 scientists from 149 countries, on October 16, 2020, based on the Scopus td database in about 170 majors, as stated in the link next: https://bit.ly/3n6dQ2R. Prof. Nidal is included in the list launched by Stanford University of "the best 2% of the world's scientists", on November, 2021, based on the Scopus td database in about 170 majors, as stated in the link next: https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/3. He was awarded the Abdul Hameed Shoman Award for Engineering Sciences for Young Arab Researchers, and he also was awarded the Hisham Hijawi Award for Applied Sciences in the Field of Engineering. Most recently he is working as a researcher at the Center of Research Excellence in Renewable Energy and Power Systems, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah 21589, Saudi Arabia as well.
