My Teaching Philosophy:
To prepare myself for an English teaching career, I have been learning teaching methods and observing certified English language teachers in their field work; the more I read, observe, and learn on this subject, the clearer idea I get on how a good teacher would be like. Reading different theories and seeing different teaching styles in practice, I realized that there is no perfect one because every theory has its pros and cons. Furthermore, it made me believe that one learning and teaching style absolutely doesn’t fit all the learners. Therefore, I have been creating and editing my own teaching philosophy since the first day I started my graduate program in TESOL (Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages).
From what I have been learning, I picked various effective English teaching techniques in which I found suitable, beneficial and most importantly, interesting for English learners.
In my philosophy, an ideal English class is a combination of a welll-equipped classroom and effective teaching techniques.
A language learning class, in my opinion, is a class of art. I believe that the best thing in teaching a new language is to have fun while using creative artistic ideas and technology that let the new information go to the students’ minds through their senses. By hearing, touching, looking, and thinking about those educational aids, a new language would definitely be more interesting to learn.
