Ever since I was a child, I have been dreaming of becoming a nurse as the loss of my grandmother, may God rest her soul in peace, had a severe impact on my life. Compassion, kindness, tenderness, love and precious ethics were the highlighted characteristics learned from her and she was my role-model and best friend. She had been diagnosed with diabetes and hypothyroidism and she had difficulties dispensing her medications, especially insulin injections. Since I was eight-years-old, I was the one who performs the injection and looks after her. The space she left in my life after she passed away has always been the motivation to take care of elderly people and was the reason behind selecting nursing among other healthcare professions.
