Najah Al-Jahdali is an assistant professor at the Department of European Languages and Literature (English section) at King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Her PhD is in Cognitive Linguistics/ Cognitive Semantics from the School of English at Leicester University, UK. Her MA is in Genre Analysis in comparative discourses of Arabic and English from the Department of European Languages and Literature at King AbdulAziz University. She is very much interested in studying the Hijazi Dialect of Arabic from a cognitive linguistic as well a sociolinguistic points of view in relation to its use in daily communication .
Research Interests
Dr. Najah Al-Jahdali is very much interested in studying the Hijazi Dialect of Arabic from a cognitive/sociolinguistic points of view. Currently, she is gathering a first-hand data of Hijazi idioms and proverbs in an adventurous attempt to unveil what lies beyond words.
