Research Interests

I) SURGICAL ONCOLOGY  EXPERIENCE: 

Following my promotion to consultant surgeon, I have started to develop an interest in the field of surgical oncology.  Being working at King Abdulaziz Hospital and Oncology Centre, I am doing a large number of cancer cases in collaboration with medical oncologists and radiation therapists.   My fields of interest include thyroid, parathyroids, salivary glands, breast and GIT, including hepato-biliary pancreatic malignancies.

 

I have attended the following training courses in this field: 

 

1.     Early gastric cancer detection and related digestive tumours, National Cancer Centre Hospital, 13 January - 11 March 1992; Tokyo, Japan  (Prof. Maruyama service).

 

2.     Hepato-biliary-pancreatico tumours, Paul-Brousse Hospital, 19 November-22 December 1993, Villejuif, Paris, France (Prof. H. Bismuth service).

 

3.     Oesophageal tumours, Thoracic Unit, Birmingham Heartlands Hospital, 14 November - 2 December 1994, Birmingham, U.K.

 

4.     3rd Postgraduate Course in Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases, 8-10 December 1994, Athens, Greece.

 

Scientific interests
