Abstract : Summary Master - Title: "Proposed Program for the Development of levels of geometric reasoning for students in middle school model in light of Allen Hoover." Titled: "A suggested Program for Developing Geometrical Thinking Levels of Preparatory Stage Pupils in The Light of Alan Hover Model ". Prepared by: Hassan Ahmed Mahmoud Nasr Department: Department of Curriculum and Teaching Methods of Mathematics - Date of Grant: 1998 College and University: College of Education, Assiut University Grade: Very Good - Supervisory Committee: 1) Professor: Dr Rifat Mohammed Hassan Miligy Professor of curriculum and methods of teaching mathematics and deputy dean of education to serve the community in Assiut, Assiut University. 2) Professor: Wadih Maximus Professor of curriculum and teaching of mathematics and the Under-Faculty of Physical Education, Assiut University, Assiut. 3) Professor: Dr Jamal Muhammad Fikri Professor of Curriculum and Teaching Methods of Mathematics, College of Education for Under-Graduate Studies in Assiut, Assiut University. Problem of the study: Given the importance of thinking skills in general and geometric reasoning special role of mathematics in general and Engineering in particular in the development of thinking because of their privacy in the teaching and learning where include art and philosophy, description, comparison and measurement and to demonstrate logical and have been for thousands of years an important part in the training of the human mind to think clearly and had to philosophers of the Greeks estimate Due to her special interest in the development of her thinking. In light of the researcher to touch through his experience in the field of teaching mathematics (Musharraf's first teacher), on article in the school and attend classes full of some middle school mathematics teachers (three rows), and through educational literature made available to the researcher could identify the following: (1) the low level of pupil achievement in mathematics in general and Engineering in particular, was clearly shown by the results of the tests. (2) teaching geometry dominated by memorization and recitation by the teacher and the participation of students is limited and confined to a distinguished and talented pupils only (3) courses do not include enough examples to the students thought-provoking, and questions and exercises in textbook exercises and chairs do not develop the skills Altvkiralengy have mostly depends on the memory and retrieval. (4) use of teaching aids that increase the effectiveness of teaching and explain concepts, principles and engineering skills are not taken properly, and that the budget allocated to the media in the education departments are very weak, became making the means and do the cost is up to the effort profile of the teacher and the ability of material. (5) to dismiss a lot of teacher attention to clarifying the concepts and principles of the Wa engineering skills that they teach to their students. (6) provide information to students without paying attention to them, including differences in preparations and individual capacities and levels of thinking. (7) lack of interest of some teachers to the development of geometric reasoning with students and follow the possible methods that help the development of not knowing these methods. That is why the current research tried to study the efficiency and effectiveness of the program proposal for the development of levels of geometric reasoning in light of the model is Allen fled. Methodology: I track researcher descriptive analytical method in the formulation of the theoretical framework and to prepare for study tools, as researcher used the experimental method based on the design of two unequal, one pilot study and unit area in the proposed program book Engineering Grade II intermediate and the other officer is considering the same content in the usual way, where are all of them for a test and also test an innovative thinking by the application of the proposed program for the development of Altvkiralengi levels and the same two groups exposed to the same tests after the completion of the experimental treatment. The researcher used the experimental method in the application of the proposed program for the development of standards Altvkiralengi the second prep students in the sample because the light is fled. - Objectives of the study: This study aimed to: (1) Altvkiralengi levels of development among the pupils of the second intermediate form in the light of Allen is fled. (2) measure the efficiency and effectiveness of the program proposal for the development of levels of geometric reasoning in light of the model, "Allen is fled," The researcher used the experimental method in the application of the proposed program. Terms of the study: 1 - levels of geometric reasoning: - First level: the level of recognition (perception) The discovery of concepts and simple geometric shapes in visual form and to look entirely without regard to the components and properties. - The second level: the level of analysis: Identify the engineering concepts by analyzing the components of the geometry and characteristics and attributes. - Level III: Sort by: Arrange the information from the analysis of components of the shape and characteristics and attributes of relations and links between them is simple and abstract definitions. - Level IV: Conclusion: Arranged by employing information and relations between them to find solutions to the exercises and logical proofs of Ntriaat engineering. - Level V: Abstraction: A high-level students up to him often in the upper stages of the study and university Kalthanoy faithful is the link between the different types of engineering without being attached to the sensory models. 2 - Collection: Achievement Delays in the collection is intended course in this study: "What that information acquired by the pupil of the result of his study of the content of the proposed program in the engineering spaces to the second grade middle school, and measured the level of performance the learner estimated degrees in the achievement test prepared by the researcher." - Study Tools: The tools of the study is: 1) an educational program based on thinking skills in the engineering unit area 2) assessed on the second intermediate grade (second semester) for the academic year 1997-1998. 3) a teacher's guide in the program module. 4) worksheets for students (enrichment activities within the chapter). 5) Notebook activity for the student (the student solve it at home). 6) a test on aspects of learning are included in the program. 7) test to measure to measure the geometric reasoning of students. - Procedures for the study: To answer questions about the study and test the validity of hypotheses the researcher followed the following steps: 1) Review of Studies and Research (Arab and foreign) above - which is made available to the researcher found - in the teaching of engineering and development levels of geometric reasoning. 2) provide a conceptual framework addresses the levels of geometric reasoning, thinking skills and engineering model of Allen Hoover. 3) prepare a program for the development of levels of geometric reasoning in the unit area in Engineering Grade II prep (second semester) to be taught the experimental group according to the following: (A) identify the objectives of the program. (B) determine the content of the study unit included in the program. (C) analysis of the content and unit area in the Book of Engineering for Grade II Middle school (second semester), to identify the aspects of learning Included with them. (D) develop a manual for teachers in the subjects and units of the program. (E) of the student worksheets (enrichment activities within the chapter). (F) Notebook activity for the student (the student solve it at home). 4) Calendar: through: (A) evaluate structural (primary): This comes after each lesson separately. (B) a final evaluation: This includes: - Building a test in subjects of the proposed program. - Building test in thinking skills in engineering. - Ensure validity and reliability of research tools. 5) selection of the study group and divided into two groups: experimental study and engineering unit area in the second grade middle school in the manner proposed and the other officer is considering the normal way. 6) the application of the achievement test in the engineering spaces, second grade to middle school for the two experimental and control groups (pre and post). 7) the application of test creative thinking skills in the engineering for the two experimental and control groups (pre and post). 8) analyze the results statistically and discussed. 9) Make recommendations and proposals in the light of the results of the study. Results of the study: After you apply the experience and answer questions about the study and treatment of hypotheses study found that: 1) There are statistically significant differences between the average scores in Achtbaralthesel in engineering for the benefit of the experimental group. 2) There are statistically significant differences between the average test scores in geometric reasoning in favor of the experimental group. Recommendations of the study: Was to propose a set of them: 1) focus on the development of the learner's ability to think and improves their skill in the use of different styles of thinking, even thinking becomes an important part of it is mental so that it could face various problems of daily life. 2) capacity development and multi-diverse learners in line with the nature of the times and what happens from technological advances, making them capable of analysis, understanding, innovation and employment information consistent with the nature of the spirit of the times and follow each of the new knowledge and information. 3) attention to student teachers to acquire aspects of thinking skills in general and geometric reasoning especially because the development of thinking is no longer just the desire for the teacher: it has become the necessities of the development of the education system. 4) increase the dose of training in the methods of higher-order thinking and training in self-learning in teacher preparation programs
