Abstract
:
Concentrations of Cu, Zn, Cd and Pb in the organs (muscles, bone, gills, liver and gonads) of seven fish species collected from the Gulf of Suez were estimated by the flame atomic absorption spectrophotometer. Muscle tissues showed the lowest values of the analyzed metals, where ranged from 0.168 - 0.486, 1.056 - 4.505, 0.037 - 0.093 and 0.416 - 0.938 pglg wet weight respectively for the above mentioned metals. Herbivorous fish (Siganus revulatus) recorded the lowest values of Zn in all studied organs. The present data showed organ-and metal-specific accumulation, which Zn was accumulated in gonads and Cu in liver. The correlation coefficients of the relations between length-metal and metalmetal in the fish muscles were investigated. The significancy of the differences among the concentration of metals in fish muscles was tested using ANOVA/MANOVA Module.
