Abstract : Dense conidial suspensions of Aspergillus terreus were treated with elevated concentrations of latex of the wild plant Calotropis Procera. Samples were taken at regular intervals in each treatment and assayed for survival percentage and auxotrophic mutant. It was found that the latex has potent lethal and mutagenic activities. Survival percentage decreased as concentrations or time of exposure increased. Frequency of auxotrophic mutant increased with increase in concentrations or exposure time. All auxotrophic mutant were amino acid requiring mutant.
