Document Details Document Type : Thesis  Document Title : Nonparametric estimates of density function from Binned Data تقديرات لامعلمية لدالة الكثافة من البيانات المجمعة   Subject : Statistics  Document Language : Arabic  Abstract : The main object of the thesis is to covered development of methods of nonparametric density estimation when the data is presented in the form of a frequency t able. However for better comprehension and for ease in comparison we have included a brief discussion of the problem of density estimation in general in Chapter 1. This is followed in Chapter 2 by a very short review of the methods of nonparametric density estimation. Chapter 3 discusses the age old histogram estimate based on binned data or data in the form of frequency table. The rest of the chapters basically discuss improvements on the histogram estimate. Thus Chapter 4 discusses the shifted histogram estimate, and Chapter 5 discusses the frequency polygon estimate, both of which are developed by Scott (1983, 1935). Other methods of improvement recently investigated are discussed in-Chapter 6.
