King Abdulaziz University (KAU) participated in the Second Saudi International Exhibition for People with Disability Requirements 'Diaa 2015' organised by … from 26-28 May 2015 at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
KAU participated with a pavilion in which information about the higher diploma in special education programme and the equipment used to diagnose people with special needs was given.
Dr Saeed Afandi, Dr Muhannad Abid, Dr Nasreen Al-Ahmadi, Mr Sahi Al-Harithi and Mr Al-Muhannad Shaqdar, represented KAU in the two-day event, which was inaugurated by Deputy Governor of Riyadh, Mr Abdullah bin Majdou' Al-Qarni, on behalf of HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by a host of ministers, diplomats and representatives of international providers, manufactures dealers and distributors of rehabilitation equipment for people with disabilities.
The event was aimed to incarnate in putting all requirements of modern studies, research, laws and regulations related to persons with disabilities in the hands of involved and interested investors in this area. It formed a better ground of a sharp vision to put the ultimate developments on this front under one roof in an event that is the first of its kind and shall the be most prominent in the Middle East. To this end, the event brought together specialists and practitioners of rehabilitation for people with disabilities, crews of hospitals, clinics, care and rehabilitation centers for people with disabilities, engineers and designers of the appropriate vital environment for people with disabilities, providers of essential services for people with disabilities, organisers of tourism for people with disabilities, official governmental bodies, procurement officials and owners and staff of projects and rehabilitation centres.
