Dr Al-Amoudi Gives Copy of Own Book to Dr Ba Dawood

Dr Samia Al-Amoudi, CEO of Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoudi Center of Excellence in Breast Cancer, gave away a copy of her own book on breast cancer published in sign language to Dr Sami Ba Dawood, Health Affairs Director in Jeddah, during the launch of a mobile mammography screening unit at Al-Hamra Medical Center.

The Book, the first of its kind in the Arab world for women with hearing disabilities, was launched by HRH Princess Seeta bint Abdullah ibn Abdulaziz Al-Saud.

Dr Ba Dawood thanked Dr Al-Amoudi for the gesture, maintaining that the book would help raise the awareness of breast cancer patients of the disease.

Dr Al-Amoudi, a breast cancer survivor, pointed out that the book was attributable to King Abdulaziz University in general and Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoudi for Excellence in Breast Cancer in particular, and that the philosophy behind it was to foster a culture of early screening strategy.

According to her, when breast cancer is detected early, patients have a better chance of complete recovery.

She also added that the book was aimed at heightening the awareness of the deaf and hard of hearing women of the disease.

She also thanked Dr Muna Ba Saleem, a breast cancer surgeon at King Fahd General Hospital (KFGH), and Dr Eman Baroum, a consultant radiologist at King Abdulaziz Hospital, for their strenuous efforts towards launching the National Breast Cancer Campaign.
