Tasks and Objectives
- Creating new services to support the network and subscribers.
- Participating in setting the technical specifications needed for equipments and programs serving in operating the network and subscribers.
- Setting up computers with suitable programs, connecting such to the University network range and ensuring that it is working properly.
- Performing regular maintenance for the main servers in the University network range.
- Providing technical support to solve problems related to the work stations at the sectors which work within the network.
- Designing, improving and maintaining the University website on the internet, in coordination with the website general administrator (Center Director)
- Providing technical support for the sectors or associates within the University network range, concerning designing and establishing websites. Further, answering the technical inquires regarding how to
transfer files through the University network range.
- Ensuring the continuity and excellence of the University website and sectors operations.
- Granting necessary privileges for the sectors requesting administrating and maintaining their own website.
- Regularly providing backup copies needed for the website.
- Regularly updating the anti-viruses programs installed on the computer sets, which are connected to the University network range and also the security updates needed to operate the system.
- Providing technical support to solve difficulties related to the internet services provided for the subscribers.
- Receiving all the associates' requests to benefit from the provided services within the University network range, supervised by the department.
- Receiving the full documents and data needed from subscribes, who are requesting one of the provided services within the University network range, supervised by the department.
- Providing technical support for the services subscribers, supervised by the department, like: changing passwords, resetting user names, mail transfers, group subscriptions, limited time access … etc
