Research Interests

He is the group leader of Computational Biosciences Group and heading Enzoinformatics unit in King Fahd Medical Research Center (KFMRC) at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. He has 8 publications in international reputed journals that have been cited over 80 times and H-index of 4 in the short span of his research carrier. His areas of specialization are the extraction of information from huge data by employing information theoretic methods. During his PhD, he developed an information theoretic method for prediction of functional residues of membrane protein using sequences alone which was published in PLoS Computational Biology and also worked on machine learning approaches like HMM, SVM and structural aspects of proteins (Modeling, docking & MD simulation). Currently, he is working on biological pathway (metabolic, signaling and gene regulatory networks) simulation in various conditions and trying to identify the critical nodes playing active role in causing diseases like cancer.
