Yesterday, Wednesday, August 20, a special edition of TEDxKAU was held under the theme “Beyond the Moment”, as part of an active community partnership between the General Authority for Awqaf and King Abdulaziz University. The event was sponsored by the Governor of the Authority, Mr. Imad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi, honored by the President of the University, Dr. Tarif bin Yousef Al-Ama, and supported by strategic partners including Al Baik Food Systems, Abu Ghazaleh Foundation for Social Development, and the University Scientific Endowment, with attendance exceeding 2,500 visitors, including leaders, thinkers, change-makers, and a broad audience interested in knowledge, creativity, and sustainability in the endowment sector.

In his opening speech, Mr. Imad bin Saleh Al-Kharashi emphasized that Saudi Vision 2030 places great focus on youth and opens opportunities for their participation in development, as they are key partners in shaping the future of endowments with their energy and capabilities. He noted that this event provided a platform for knowledge exchange, idea inspiration, and enhanced participation in serving the nation and society.

The event featured a diverse lineup of speakers who shared their experiences and visions through a series of inspiring talks and impactful stories, providing attendees with a rich intellectual journey that went beyond the moment to create a lasting influence on the future.

The program included light and interactive intervals reflecting innovation and creativity. The “Beyond the Moment” exhibition offered an enriching journey through past and present endowments and future visions. The General Authority for Awqaf also launched innovative initiatives, featuring the “Athar” interactive robot as a personal assistant for endowment initiatives, adding a modern dimension to announcements that engages youth and links technology with impact.

Organizing TEDxKAU underscores the commitment of the General Authority for Awqaf to enhancing the role of innovative ideas in transforming endowments into modern models, and reinforces the university’s dedication to supporting developmental initiatives while highlighting its role as an active partner in achieving sustainable development.
