King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Tareef bin Youssef Alaama launched the newly
redesigned “My KAU” app as an integrated digital experience aimed at unifying university
services in a single interface. Designed to facilitate efficient access and reduce the time and
effort required by users, the platform was launched on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the
University Council Hall.
My KAU aims to enhance the quality of university life and simplify daily procedures for
university affiliates, including students and employees. It also seeks to ensure service
sustainability and improve technical reliability as part of a transition toward an integrated
digital experience that places users’ needs at the forefront and provides seamless access to
all academic and administrative requirements.
Statistics from the app’s new version showed exceptional performance, with more than
45,000 users recorded in its first week, a 50% increase in operating speed, and a 99.86%
stability rate free of outages.
As a smart system, the upgraded version of My KAU is designed to organize access to
services smoothly and efficiently, reducing the time and effort spent on routine transactions.
By linking all university services through a unified interface, the platform eliminates user
fragmentation across multiple systems. It was designed based on a careful study of
beneficiaries’ behavior and daily needs, ensuring an ongoing digital relationship that
supports communication even after graduation.
Among its distinctive features, the new version includes tools that strengthen users’
connection with the university, such as a shareable digital employee ID, interactive services,
advanced academic schedule controls, and lecture alerts. As part of its future roadmap, the
university aims to integrate artificial intelligence technologies and develop advanced
interactive campus maps to ensure a smart and sustainable user experience.
First launched in 2013, the app has gone through several stages of establishment and
operation. Its current “rebuild” phase comes as a carefully considered response to the
challenges of previous versions, with work focused on delivering a smarter experience that is
more adaptable to modern technological changes. This reflects King Abdulaziz University’s
commitment to leadership in sustainable digital transformation.
