King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Museums Administration, signed a
cooperation agreement with Professional Cycle Co. Ltd., a member of AJA Group
and Partners, aimed at promoting the preservation and protection of underwater
heritage in line with Saudi Vision 2030, on [date] at [venue].
Representing the university at the signing ceremony was Dr. Mohammed bin Ahmed
Al-Amoudi, Vice President for Business and Knowledge Creativity, while Mr.
Abdulilah bin Mohammed Al-Janoubi, Chief Executive Officer, represented
Professional Cycle Co. Ltd. Through this agreement, both parties seek to exchange
expertise and transfer the latest knowledge in scientific research and the excavation
of submerged antiquities.
Designed to support Saudi Vision 2030, the agreement promotes the preservation
and protection of underwater heritage, bridges the gap between maritime heritage
and existing museums through the establishment of new facilities and the transfer of
the latest expertise in excavation and scientific research, and brings local discoveries
to the forefront of tourism in Saudi Arabia.
Areas of cooperation include organizing international events such as the “Titanic” and
“Treasures of the Sea” exhibitions, as well as an international forum dedicated to
underwater heritage; developing and investing in the university’s museums; providing
support for crowd management and security; conducting exploratory expeditions to
underwater heritage sites; supplying professional personnel to support the
achievement of targeted indicators; and organizing specialized exhibitions
showcasing the university’s local discoveries and promoting them locally and
internationally.
Academic cooperation under the agreement includes supporting postgraduate
research projects, launching competitions for students of the College of Marine
Studies, and organizing training courses and international visits to specialized
museums. The university will also provide professional and technical personnel, draw
on the expertise of its staff in joint projects to enhance scientific research and the
excavation of underwater heritage, and support the university’s participation in
meetings, conferences, and seminars.
