Appendiceal diverticulitis can present acutely with a clinical picture resembling that of an acute appendicitis. This report is of two cases which were admitted to our hospital's Emergency Department with acute abdominal pain and in which reactive epithelium covering the appendiceal outer serosal surface was noticed on microscopic examination.
