HISTORY EGP

   Geophysics is one of the earth sciences, which is concerned with the studying of subsurface exploration for natural resources, oil and ground water; as well as studying of engineering aspects of soil & rocks to select the safe locations of constructions according to the physical properties of the earth constituents. The subject extended to include the physical measurements deep in the earth, in the oceans or air-born. Geophysics is used also for environmental purposes and archeological investigations.

   In 1407 H (1987 G), Geophysics Department started with the B.Sc. Program and followed by M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs to build up higher qualified groups specialized in different fields of applied geophysics.
