Accreditation Honoring Ceremony

The Rector of the University, Prof. Osama S. Tayyaeb congratulated and honored the Faculty of Earth Sciences for having it's courses successfully accreditated by the British Geological Society. Prof. Mohammed Rashad bin Hassan Moufti, then then Dean of the Faculty recieved the honoring accolades on behalf of the Faculty. Present was his Highness Prof. Abdulla bin Omar Nassef, the Staff from the Scientific department and the Faculty members.

The ceremony started with the recitation of the Holy Quran followed by an address from the Prof. Mohammed Rashad bin Hassan Moufti. He briefed the gathering about the process of accreditation to the Faculty and thanked the Rector for his cooperation and efforts in making it a success. He also thanked other departments of the University for contributing to the overall process of accreditation which lasted for about 16 months. The end result was achieved with all the 6 departments of the Faculty courses being accreditated by the Society. The Faculty was the first to be accreditated in it's field in the middle east.

Prof. Zuhair bin Abdulla Damanhori, President for the Development, KAU also later on addressed the gathering. He emphasised the need of the courses to be accreditated for better quality and output. He informed the gathering that 26 other academic courses in the University have been under the process of obtaining accreditation from various Societies and Organizations. The Rector of the University also appriciated the efforts put in by the Faculty in the whole process. He specifically appriciated the efforts of Prof. Mohammed bin Abdo Yamani (May Allah have mercy on him) and Prof. Abdulla bin Omer Nassef for contributing to the development of the faculty over the years.

The Ceremony was concluded with an Honoring ceremony to the Rector by all the former Deans of the Faculty of Earth Sciences and the media relations center of the University.
